Free Image to PBR Generator
Turn any image into a PBR map set — normal, height, ambient occlusion, and an estimated roughness — then download the lot. Free, no sign-up.
100% in your browser — your image is never uploaded.
How to use it
- 1
Add a texture
Drop in a color image or surface photo (PNG, JPG, or WebP). It's read locally — nothing is uploaded.
- 2
Get the maps
Mixos derives a normal and height map from the image, plus an approximated AO and an estimated roughness map. Tune the normal depth and roughness.
- 3
Download the set
Grab a zip of every map plus your base color, ready to wire into Blender, Unreal, Unity, Godot, or any renderer.
Want a true PBR material — accurate roughness, a real metallic map, layers and wear? Author it in the Mixos editor, or grab a ready-made CC0 material with all maps included.
Frequently asked questions
What maps does it generate?
Base color (your image), a tangent-space normal map, a height/displacement map, an approximated ambient occlusion map, and an estimated roughness map. Metallic can't be derived from a single image, so you set that yourself.
How accurate are the maps?
The normal and height maps are derived directly from the image and are reliable. AO and roughness are approximations meant as a fast starting point — for production PBR, refine them (and add a real metallic map) in the Mixos editor.
Is it free, and does it upload my image?
It's completely free with no sign-up, and it runs entirely in your browser using the canvas API — your image never leaves your device.
Which engines do the maps work with?
They're standard PBR maps, so they import into Blender, Unreal, Unity, Godot, and any other renderer.
From a flat image to a real material.
The Mixos editor turns these maps into a layered PBR material you can paint, mask, weather, and export at up to 4K — free to author.
