MixosMixos and Claude

Claude connector · Studio · Mold · Paint

Build 3D scenes by asking Claude.

Connect Mixos to the Claude you already use. Describe an object, a lighting setup or a camera move in claude.ai, Claude Desktop or Claude Code, and it happens in your open tab — 450+ commands across Studio, Mold and Paint, on your own Claude plan, with no API key to paste.

Things you can say

  • Build a low table with four tapered legs and put a bowl on it
  • Add a three-point light rig and warm the key light
  • Give everything on the floor a brushed-steel material
  • Frame the hero object from a low angle and render a still
  • Animate the camera orbiting the scene over four seconds
  • What's in this scene, and what is selected right now?

Setup

Two minutes, once.

Add Mixos where you use Claude, approve it, and press Connect in a Studio tab. After that it is just a conversation.

  • See your Studio projects and scenes, and read their contents
  • Create and change scenes in your Studio library
  • Generate materials, images and video with AI — this spends your Mixos AI credits

Connect a document

Open a scene in Studio, a sculpt in Mold or a project in Paint and press Connect to Claude in the top bar, then Connect. That tab is now the one Claude builds in, and the chip names each command as it runs. Claude is handed the tools of whichever app you connected, so a sculpt session gets brushes and remeshing rather than a scene graph.

This is per tab and on purpose: Claude only ever drives a document you have handed it. Close the tab and the connection ends.

Open Studio

Check it works

Ask Claude “What can Mixos do?” It answers even with no tab open, across all three apps. Then open a scene, press Connect to Claude, and ask it to “add a cube”.

What Claude can do

Every command in three apps, with your work in front of it.

The connector exposes the same command layer the apps themselves run on, so there is no second, smaller feature set for Claude: 402 in Studio, 34 in Mold and 36 in Paint. It reads your document before acting and reports what actually happened afterwards — including when the app clamped or refused a request.

Model

Primitives, booleans, extrusions, bevels, modifiers and the half-edge editing tools, on the selection you have.

Assemble

Create, name, parent, duplicate and place objects; snap them to each other and to the floor.

Material

Assign PBR materials from the library or describe one; set colour, roughness, metal, emission.

Light and camera

Three-point rigs, HDRI environments, area and IES lamps; frame shots and set lenses.

Animate

Keyframes, camera paths, rigging and the motion library, on a timeline Claude can scrub.

Render and see

Render stills, take viewport captures Claude can look at, and query anything in the scene.

Sculpt

In Mold: brushes and strokes, masks and face sets, dynamic remesh, multiresolution levels, booleans and shell extraction.

Paint

In Paint: the layer stack — add, reorder, rename, blend modes, opacity, visibility and text layers.

Built to be trusted with your work

You stay in the loop, by design.

Deletes ask first, in the tab

Any command that deletes or overwrites stops in Studio and names the object before anything happens. Approving one does not approve the next. Everything else is an ordinary undo step.

Only the tab you connected

Connecting is a deliberate press in one Studio tab, never automatic on sign-in. Close the tab and the session ends; leave it open and it ends itself after twelve hours.

Credits are a separate permission

Generating a material, a still, a video or a logo mark spends Mixos AI credits, so it is its own line on the consent screen. Leave it unticked and every one of those is refused — the connector cannot spend anything.

Revoke in one click

Account → Connected apps lists every client with access and when it last used it. Disconnecting kills every token immediately.

Billing, teams and account settings are not reachable through the connector at all — those routes accept only a signed-in browser session. Read more on the security page.

Questions

Does this use my Mixos AI credits?
Not unless you grant the generate permission. Modeling, lighting, cameras, rendering and queries run in your browser and cost nothing — including applying a material you already have. What spends credits is asking AI to MAKE one: a generated material, a still, a video, or a logo mark. Those cost exactly what they cost in the app. Claude asks for every permission Mixos offers — it has no way to ask for fewer — so the Mixos approval screen is where you actually choose: it lists them as tick boxes, and the credits one starts turned off.
Which Claude plans work?
Any plan that lets you add a custom connector: claude.ai Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise, the Claude Desktop app on those plans, and Claude Code. The model runs on your Claude subscription, so Mixos never asks for an API key and never meters the conversation.
Can I use Claude and ChatGPT at the same time?
Yes. They are separate connections with separate permissions, and both drive the same connected tab — whichever app you last pressed Connect in. Revoking one in Account → Connected apps leaves the other working. There is no need to disconnect one to use the other. Setup for the ChatGPT side is at /chatgpt.
Does an app need to be open?
For changes, yes — commands run in a Studio, Mold or Paint tab you have pressed Connect in, because your document lives in your browser. Whichever app you connect is the one whose tools Claude is handed: connect Mold and it gets the sculpting commands, not the scene graph. Claude can still answer “what can Mixos do” and search every command in all three apps with nothing open. If no tab is connected, it tells you that instead of guessing.
Can Claude delete my work?
Not silently. Any command that deletes or overwrites part of a scene stops in the Studio tab and asks you first, with the object named. Approving one delete does not approve the next. And every change is a normal undo step.
How do I disconnect?
From Studio’s top bar to end the current tab’s session, or from Account → Connected apps to revoke Claude’s access entirely. Revoking is immediate and kills every token that connection held. Signing out of Mixos alone does not disconnect it.
Claude says no Studio tab is connected
That is the connector telling you the truth rather than guessing: changes need a tab. Open a scene in Studio, press Connect to Claude in the top bar, then Connect, and ask again. One tab at a time — pressing Connect in a second tab moves Claude to that one.
Claude can’t add the connector
Use the URL exactly as written here — https://www.mixos.io/api/mcp — with https and the www. A different spelling of the address is a different server to Claude. If an approval page says the link expired, it was older than ten minutes; start again from Claude and it will open a fresh one.
Is this the same as the assistant inside Studio?
Same commands, opposite billing. The in-app assistant uses a key you paste; the connector uses the Claude client you already pay for, with Claude’s own memory, projects and files alongside your scene.
