FiveM and GTA V liveries

See the livery on the car while you paint it.

Stop guessing how a flat template wraps around a door. Import the car, paint and place decals directly on the body with layers and masks, and export the texture for your own FiveM or GTA V install step.

mixos Paint open on an iPad showing a brick material previewed on a sphere, lying on a sheet of paper covered in pencil concept sketches of the same subject.

Paint on the body

Stripes and logos go where you see them, across panels, instead of being checked in-game after every small change to a flat template.

Decals and layers

Keep sponsors, numbers and paint separate, each with its own mask, so a department crest or a sponsor swap does not mean rebuilding the design.

Your UVs stay yours

Painting uses the mesh's existing UVs, which is what lets the finished texture fit the vehicle. Avoid re-unwrapping a car you plan to put back in the game.

Export, then convert

Download PNG, TGA, TIFF or PSD. FiveM and GTA V texture tools work with DDS, so convert the file as the last step before replacing the texture.

Why Mixos

Where mixos fits in a livery workflow

A GTA V vehicle keeps its model in a .yft file and its textures in .ytd dictionaries. Community guides replace or add livery textures with tools such as OpenIV or Texture Toolkit, usually as a .dds file with the exact name the vehicle expects. Each vehicle also supports a limited number of livery slots, and its carvariations.meta controls what shows up in game. None of that part happens in mixos.

What mixos does is the painting. To work on the car in 3D, you need the model in a format it reads, such as GLB, FBX or OBJ, with the UVs intact. Converting a .yft to one of those formats takes a community tool, and the quality of the conversion decides how well the result lines up, so test a simple stripe in game before painting the full design.

Keep an eye on size. FiveM servers have limits on oversized texture dictionaries, so a livery does not need to be as large as it can be. Check that you are allowed to modify the car you are working on, especially paid models, and treat real police and brand markings with care on public servers.

Frequently asked questions

Does mixos export DDS or YTD files?

No. It exports PNG, TGA, TIFF and PSD. Convert to DDS and replace the texture with your usual FiveM or GTA V tools.

Can I open a .yft file directly?

No. Convert the vehicle to GLB, FBX or OBJ with a community tool first, and keep its UVs so the painted texture still fits.

Will the livery line up in game?

It will if the imported mesh keeps the vehicle's original UVs and the texture goes into the right slot. Test a simple design in game before finishing a detailed one.

Is it free?

Painting and previewing are free. Exporting finished textures needs a paid plan or a perpetual licence.

Is mixos affiliated with FiveM or Rockstar?

No. mixos is an independent 3D texturing tool. Check each game's and server's rules before you publish.
